この度、「英語論文執筆セミナー」を下記日程にて開催いたします。
　今回のセミナーでは、「読者の視点に立って、読者に効果的に伝わる論文を書く」ことを
テーマに外部より講師の先生をお招きし、ご講演いただきます。
　ご多忙の折とは存じますが、是非、多くの皆様にご参加いただきたくご案内申し上げます。
　また、本セミナーは大学院生も対象としておりますので、指導されている大学院生にも
周知いただきますよう、よろしくお願いいたします。

　なお、事前申込み制となっておりますので、ご参加いただける場合には必ず以下の期日

　申請時に、ご自身の研究に関する英語の執筆サンプルを提出してください。
　サンプルはMicrosoft Wordのdocx形式の500語以内、フォントサイズは12ポイント以上で提出してください。
　他の目的で作成された資料を流用していただくことは可能ですが、ご提出いただくサンプルは、
　他者による編集が加えられていないオリジナルのものに限らせていただきます。
　提出物は確認のうえ、一部を閲覧させていただきますが、
　セミナー中に例として取り上げた場合を除き、こちらで編集を行うことはございません。

Dr. Rick WEISBURD, President, ELSS, inc. (scientific editing, translation）

 

■Speaker Profile:

Rick earned his B.S. in biology from SUNY Albany and Ph.D. in oceanography from the University of Hawaii. He moved to Japan in 1990 and did post-doctoral research for 6 years at the National Institute for Environmental Studies. After teaching biology for 9 years at the University of Tsukuba, in 2006 he resigned from his associate professorship to run his scientific editing and translation company ELSS (https://www.elss.co.jp) full time. Rick has taught research communication at various research institutions every year since 1996. From 2011 to 2017, he served as Councilor for Certification Exam Development for the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences.

When applying, please submit an English writing sample (Word file) summarizing your research content within 500 words.
You may reuse content created for other purposes, but the submitted sample must not have been edited by others.
We will confirm receipt of submitted documents and conduct a preliminary review. However, we will not edit the content, except for selected samples that will be edited on screen as examples during the seminar.
Submit your sample in Microsoft Word's docx format.
Use a font size of 12 points or larger.
